We, a family with two young children, age 9 and 11, went with African Darter on a 8 day safari. And thanks to Mkomwa and guide Joseph we fell in love with Tanzania. African Darter is a small organisation who organises safaris, with Mkomwa as owner. They are very flexible and because of their small overhead the safaris are appealingly priced. From the Netherlands we had frequently contact with Mkomwa and we noticed how easy it was to do so through email and even telephone. Also the down payment which was needed to make the reservations went well following the instructions. When we arrived in Tanzania our trust proofed to be justified. The day before the safari Mkomwa and Joseph came to our hotel to introduce themselves and help us with some practical little problems. The safari was a huge succes for both adults and children. Mkomwa took care of the meals; he worked very hygienic and he was really considerate towards the children. A smashing hit for them was the huge amount of sweet popcorn after a day of game drive and the pancakes in the morning. Joseph proofed to be a skilful and patient guide who every time 'happened' to drive our jeep to the right spots where there was something special to see. Yes, we saw the big 5. We can look back to a wonderful safari thanks to African Darter.

We enjoyed a wonderful holiday trip organized by Mkomwa. He's very helpful and always available for questions. Mkowa organized a transit from and to the airport, he gave me useful advices about where to go. We've chosen a trip of five days in Serengeti. This trip included a visit of the Lake Manyara, two day at Serengeti and one day in the Ngorongoro crater. A wonderful experience! The driver we had was very kind and drove us to the most beautiful places of the Serengeti. The cook served delicious dishes every day. We enjoyed and at the end of the trip it felt like we were friends. The Lodge where we stayed in Arusha was wonderful, quiet, good located and the personnel was very helpful. The best was yet to come: we went to the Kilimanjaro. Before we started Mkomwa came to visit us at the Lodge with the guides. They wanted to make sure we started the trip with a good equipment. Safety is indeed very important. The trip lasted 6 days and to be honest...during these days we all felt so supported by the guides and the porters that at the end of the trip we were like a whole big family. I'm sure my children won't forget this week. My youngest son of 13 was so proud he reached Guilman's point! And I'm sure he only could do so because of the support of Samuel, one of the guides. I'm really greatful to Mkomwa that he made this trip possible for us. I advise everybody to rely on his advises. Just ask him what to do and he will guide you true Tanzania.

I went on safari with Mkomwa, we just went with a very exclusive company. Me, my friend, Mkomwa and the driver. We had six wonderful days. We went to the Ngorongoro crater and the Serengeti. I will never forget this experience!

Last summer my wife and I had a great holiday in the nothern part of Tanzania. We had a perfect coörperation with Mkomwa. Together we make the trip with my needs and his knowledge!! Nice accomodation, from budget (resthouse), until midrange accomodation. We did hikes around villages were no other tourist came. That’s his strenght: Try to find places were not much other tourist are coming!! Even in the notherns parks like Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and Serengeti, who’s normally in season are very crowdy.. we did game-drives to places were it was quiet, but with a lot of animals, cheatah with cubs, many lions, several leopards and even wild dogs who are very rare!! I am a photographer, and I had to opportunity to make great pictures! I will tell everyone who will come to Tanzania: ask African Darter for a proposal and you don’t will disappointed!! I would like to thank you very much for your efforts. We had agreed with Mkomwa just before our departure to meet at our guesthouse in Arushu. We all succeeded and we have done a wonderful two-day safari with him and his driver through the Tarangire and Lake Mangare National Park. It was more than fantastic! Never before have I experienced nature as so powerful. Both men were extremely pleasant company, cooked deliciously for us and looked after us exquisitely. And we also assisted and advised both before and after the safari. I can heartily recommend them to anyone who goes this way and wants to do a safari.
